We are staying at Albert Docks, which you can see above. So beautiful, during the day or night. Our room looks out on this spectacular sight. Brilliant.
Of course a Beatles tour was a must with a Liverpudlian guide, the brother of Holly Johnson, Franky goes to Hollywood ( I loved his accent) . It was a great way to learn some very interesting snippits of information about the 4 young men who changed the music world for ever and inspired me through the more difficult years as a teenager.
The grand finale was of course a visit to the Cavern, where we spent a couple of hours listening to a young man who not only looked like a mix of John and Paul, but also sounded like them. He was superb. I found it incredible that after 50 years I could still remember practically all the words of songs I used to sing.
We will definitely head back there again tomorrow for more free concerts. What a great place, so much smaller and more intmate than i had ever imagined.
Liverpool is an amazingly clean and beatiful city with the second biggest park , after Hyde Park, in Britain and also one of the lagest cathedrals in the world. Apart from the historic side, it also boasts some wonderful modern architecture, as can be seen in the first photo.more to follow tomorrow.
I wil leave you to make out of this sign what you wish!
