Often low fog hangs in the valley and hills just above the little path I take across the meadows towards Zuoz.
Views do not really matter because there is so much to see close at hand with the fabulous carpet of flowers as far as the eye can see. Seeing such beauty early in the morning, listening to the bird song and feeling the cool air on the cheeks is just the best way to begin a busy day.
The incredible thing about the morning fog is that it can disappear in seconds . It is as though someone has opened the curtains and let in the day!
As you approach Zuoz you pass the ski lifts. Hard to imagine that these gorgeous meadows with the horses lazily munching away were only a few months ago covered with snow and people swishing down the slopes.
I love winter but the colours in summer are just so intense.
10 minutes more and I arrive in Zuoz. How I love this little village. It does not matter how many years I work here, there is always a feeling of wonder when I get to its central square, so stunning in the early morning light and with nobody around!
Wherever you look, it is like something out of a fairy tale
What a place to live for five weeks each year! I am so fortunate!
The bear which wanders in to this area each summer is believed to be back ,but I hope the only one I see is this one!
After a hard day's work it is so restful to arrive back at the campsite and to admire what seems to be a regular occurence - evening rain and spectacular rainbows
Not to mention the amazing light on the mountain peaks.
I call this peak in the picture below ' the Nipple peak'
Back to work for a couple of hours in the evening in my cosy little Hobbit House. I must have a short break tomorrow morning and walk down the valley a bit. Weather forecast is great!
